Introduction: God Has Spoken Fully and Finally in His Son
1:1 After God spoke long ago in various portions and in various ways to our ancestors through the prophets, 1:2 in these last days he has spoken to us in a son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he created the world.
I am continuing to be fascinated that lately, more and more is being revealed about what's going on in both the world and the scripture, and based on some good teaching I've heard and read, and seeing that anything I think I know comes not from some wonderful understanding of my own but rather from others who have written far more eloquently than I, none-the-less, I feel I must point to what I think about the timing that I am observing; God seems to have a cycle, re: Ecclesiastes (another lesson for another time maybe).
Adam to Moses; Adam thrown out of the Garden and begins a new covenant with God where God deals directly with the early fathers and reveals His will directly to them. Mankind degenerates to the point that God destroys everyone except Noah and children. This thread of faith continues until Abraham is blessed through Jacob to Moses who led, the now Israelite nation out of bondage and established the next covenent where God deals with his chosen as a nation.
Aaron - Malachi; God established his written law and dealt with his chosen by way of priest, king and prophet. All the while establishing, by allowing, that mankind left to his own devices, will ultimately degenerate into a power=seeking, power-hungry entity that will self-destruct. Re: David and Solomon both blessed of God were both guilty of crimes that God abhored. Things got really bad towards the end of the prophets until God, seemingly, just turned them over to the Gentiles for a while as he prepared for the coming of the Saviour; Malachi to John the Baptist.
Then Jesus, the Beginning and End. So, I guess that makes us followers of the end, Omega, but yet the End, end hasn't occurred yet, so we are still followers of the Alpha (beginning) and depending on how you read Revelation (John, Daniel, Eziekel and others), we may, now, today be living in eternity in which God's creation will be restored rather than destroyed. And, we shall walk with him as it was in the pre-sin days of Adam, throught the santification by the sin-free blood of Jesus.
Adam's end was being removed from the garden. At another time the flood was the end of God dealing directly with out-of-control, sinful mankind; except for Noah and his direct decendants like Abraham and Moses. And then to the nation of Israel, an everlasting covenant to Abraham that has no end but which allowed the birth of the Saviour, Jesus Christ, Who came, lived a mortal life, was murdered for our transgressions, and overcame death and Hades and gave to Peter the keys to the kingdom which was used on Pentecost to usher in the new covenant to the Jews and again at the household of Cornelius, extending the the covenant to all the Gentiles.... Thank you Lord for allowing us gentiles to become children of Abraham and thus children and sons of the King. I don't fully understand it but because it is promised in His Word, I believe it and my faith makes it so. Ain't God Wonderful? No, make that God is Wonderful!
Back to cycles, if for about 2000 years God worked by the patriarchs, and about 2000 years with the nation of Israel, and it's been about 2000 years since Jesus' church was established; what will be the next 'big bang'; ie having to leave the garden (Adam); the flood (Noah); the destruction of the temple (Jews condemnation); what's next (we who are without excuse having been told of God's love through Jesus' death on the cross?)
Not finished by a long shot, but I need to reload the cannon...
